It is important that deaf children start to learn when young and “My Sign Preschool” in Chiang Mai gives young deaf children language and signing through play activities. When these children reach school age they go to the government school for the deaf and continue to live at My Sign. Their time of preschool learning means they progress quickly and achieve very good results when they start school. The children recently visited the National Gardens near Chiang Mai and had a very enjoyable day.
We also have a small Video Production Unit in Chiang Mai and deaf people train and work in this area, making CDs, DVDs, etc; for the deaf and mainstream TV broadcasting. Our workers have also started a Restaurant at My Sign and this provides a good way to tell people about our facilities for educating young deaf children.
